Trip to the Tea Gardens

Munnar is always one of the most beautiful places in kerala. You go there in any season and you wont be
disappointed by the scenic beauty you get to see there.
We started our trip to Munnar from my home town Cochin. The route taken was Kakkanad-Perumbavoor-
Kothamangalam- Neryamangalam-Adimali - Munnar. We stopped at Adimali for our breakfast and
continued the journey to the marvelous hillstation.

As we were nearing Munnar, the entire palce was covered in fog. Everywhere there was this lush green
filled tea gardens. Anyone would feel at peace seeing the gracious nature.

The mountains were embraced with green color as we were going to a top hillstation Kulukumalai. The journey was a bit tiring  as there were no proper roads. The journey was in jeep which was a bit uncomfortable. But after reaching the top I thought what a waste it would have been if I had mised it.

A view from the top of the mountain kolukumalai which is about 20 km from Munnar town

After enjoying for about an hour we came back to our resort which was another beautiful place I would say,
Ayur county ,Munnar. The resort consists of small cottages which is scattered around between the mountains.

Soon it was time to start our journey back home, We descended the hills carrying the memory of marvelous Munnar which we will cherish for a long time.

Devastating Trip to Capital City

On 21st Aug , morning I reached the North Railway station from where I boarded the JanaShadabti to Trivandrum! Excitement was stirring within me while I sat near the window seat. Its been almost 6 months since I visited TVM. The train started to move and I was all smiling looking outside the window...
It took exactly 4 hours to reach Trivandrum central.

Trivandrum Central Railway station

I came out of the railway station and headed towards the bus station, boarded the bus to Kazhakootam. Journey from Thampanoor to Kazhakootam is really a feast to eyes. Passing through MG Road filled with people buying stuffs for onam celebrations. , Secretariat , Palayam church , Chandrasekhar Nair stadium, University College,GV Raja Stadium, Post office, Medical College, Karyavattom University campus and finally reached Kazhakootam. It was the atmosphere of celebration everywhere. Took an auto and reached my favorite place...Our Techno park..

I ran into the Bhavani building to meet my friends and It was our Graduation day ..Well that was sort of surprise I had totally forgot about that! We all went up to the stage to get our crowning as ALPHA graduates. Rocked the rest of day with my buddies whom I met after long gap. Slept over at my old hostel.

Next day morning, now this is what I actually came to TVM for, I had a test at VSSC :) ...Sharp 8 am me and a friend of mine reached VSSC office. 8.30 the test was about to start and as they were calling names I noticed my name was never called. I spoke to the guy who was calling and he told me to wait in a small room near by. I waited n waited n waited..Long after they called me and told I cannot attend test as my date was on 17th ..Phew what the fish I thought to myself...I never got any communication from them stating this, whereas I called them couple of times to inquire and they said come on 22nd. They had nothing else to say other than they are sorry...Well for the first time in my life I felt so depressed sitting there in that room my eyes were almost filled with tears and I couldn't see anything. There was a lady who comforted me saying don't worry child come back next year and get through, maybe you are meant to get more higher post than this. Thats it I got up from there came out of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, looked back once again and a tear or two came down rolling on my cheeks. Got in bus headed back to East Fort. On the way I decided to roam a bit just to change my mood.

First I got down at East fort and went to the Padmanabha Swami Temple, stood there looking at people who were busy buying flowers, sarees , puja items and what not. I could see all of them were happy and smiling at each other and there was this serene divinity about this place which made me also smile. :)

I met a friend of mine at bus stop and went to roam the city. Checked out the newly opened KFC , went to big bazaar bought some stuffs and I realized shopping can really make your mind light and also your purse too ;) , roamed about here and there for sometime and it was time to start my journey back to the queen of Arabian sea..my Cochin.. Again got in Janashadabti @ 2.30 PM , as I was approaching the North railway station I felt so happy to be back home. And thus ended my devastating trip to the Capital city

Aspirations of a M@d Dreamologist

I have like this dream of travelling to different places since i was a small kid. Those time my parents would never allow me do that. :) saying i am too small to travel.

As I grew up the urge of travelling also grew with me. Still in India parents are hesitant to send their kids especially girls alone for travelling expeditions. Now like I am on my own but now the problem is I couldn't find anyone to travel along me and yes  its too boring to travel all by yourself!

I wish to go to places with scenic beauty , waterfalls and rich in flora and fauna.

Hoping to find some travel-mates who share my same interests and want to travel along India! Or will my dream remain as dream itself ...Not sure!

I love to take photographs even though I am not a great photographer or own an expensive cam. Wildlife photography is what I am really interested in , even though I don't know a bit about it. As my mom says, Its all because you watch a lot of National Geographic channel ..LOL

I have been to many places in kerala and I must say its such beauty of nature explored there. The forests of Idukki, Thekkadi ,Wild life sanctuary of Thattekkad - Salim Ali's favorite place for bird watching. How can I forget the hillstations of Munnar and the waterfalls of Athirapilly & Vazhachal last but not the least the backwaters of Aleppy

I want to explore more places in kerala like Wayanad, Kannur, Kuttanad and then advance to Maharashtra,Goa,Sunderbans,Sikkim,Manali,Ladhak,Kashmir and then go on to Bhutan, China...wow dreams are just never ending

Below are the pictures of my travel to Idukki Dam and near by places.
